Mearth was born after I was able to sit with pain and process trauma from injustice of this world. Not seen as I am and misunderstood by the people whom I loved, was one of my biggest sufferings.
It was after a painful re-birth , I realized that my surrender to pain was inevitable for my survival. And showing up for me was the only way to move forward in life. It meant complete acceptance of my body's need to rest, sincerely listening to my heart, to my intuition and respecting my unique pace. It also meant letting go of all connections with the material world for a period of time.
Just like a caterpillar that dissolves into a complete mush of DNA before it is transformed into a butterfly, my days were filled with unease and lack of inspiration. But the belief that “everything was happening for me” was the reason that kept me going. I felt connected to a greater power in control and my only job was to surrender.
One day, the clouds parted ways, and there was a subtle flicker of a butterfly. As I felt courage to paint my experience and emotions in a form of a painting using my finger tips, a small part of me was re-discovered. I started painting and drawing with no formal education in arts and with no prior experience.
With this came a realization that Trauma is a natural part of being alive. As Asia Suler, author of the “Mirrors in the Earth” says, our traumas are not the things that have damaged us beyond repair, but the impacts that have gifted us our unique dimensionality.
As we all go through our individual traumas and pains, we unable ourselves and the Earth to be re-born again, to evolve, to find our gifts that we are meant to share, to live from our highest potential, to experience profound joy, empathy and kindness for one another.
Our pains are the birthing pains for the planet as a whole. Pain is benevolent. Therefore, it demands to be felt.
The purpose of mearth is to deliver the messages from the earth and share my vision of a world where love, unity and integrity is the basis of human connections which are fundamental to our evolution.
Believing that the people in my life, my parents, my brother, my partner, friends as well as my two Zen dogs act like a catalyst in bringing my purpose to life, it can be said that the connections in our lives are there to guide us home. Without their presence, we wouldn't feel much meaning in our lives. Therefore, part of purpose is unconditional love I feel in all my relationships and intention to share it with the world.
It is to strengthen faith in humanity and to emphasize in the belief that unity and affirmation has more power to change behavior than shame and vengeance. This is known as Ubuntu – humanity towards others.
Mearth is built on an intention that breaks through our cultural conditionings to reach our soul, a place of radical acceptance.
To see us as we truly are. Loved. Cherished. Worthy.
